The VIKING 1740 Series auto-darkening helmets are equipped with an exceptional EN379 - 1/1/1/1 optical clarity rating. This rating reflects the helmet's excellent performance across four separate optical categories. Loaded with features, the VIKING solar-powered auto-darkening helmets are both rugged and lightweight. The helmet offers continuously variable shade control and operates on solar power with battery assist, eliminating the need for an on/off switch to remember. It is also capable of being used with a hard hat adapter. Furthermore, it comes with 2 replaceable AAA alkaline batteries, 2 inside cover lenses, and 5 outside cover lenses. The helmet is backed by a 3-year warranty and is available in a package of 1.

The 1.4C Lens Technology utilized in this helmet provides a crystal clear, true color view of the arc and puddle, enhancing weld control and quality while reducing eye strain. In addition, the 4C lens boasts a 1/1/1/1 optical clarity rating, ensuring that common lens imperfections such as blurriness and distortion are eliminated. It also delivers consistent brightness and performance at various angles.

The headgear of the helmet has been improved with better padding, ensuring a more comfortable fit. A Grind Mode Indicator, featuring a green flashing LED inside the helmet, indicates to the user that the helmet is in grind mode. The helmet also offers variable 9-13 shade, sensitivity, and delay control, allowing for customization based on individual preferences.

The AAA batteries used in the helmet are user-replaceable, providing ease of maintenance.
